The Government of Jamaica has secured a loan from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and intends to apply part of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contract for the Supply of Fixed Truck Weigh Scales.
National Road Operating and Constructing Company (NROCC), which will be the Implementing Agency for the Project, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply of Four (4) Fixed Truck Weigh Scales.
The procurement of goods and services will be limited to firms, or joint ventures of firms which are legally incorporated or otherwise organized in, and have their principal place of business in an eligible country and are either:
(i) more than 50% beneficially owned by a citizen or citizens and/or a bona fide resident or residents of an eligible country or countries, or by a body corporate or bodies corporate meeting these requirements, or
(ii) owned or controlled by the government of an eligible country provided that it is legally and financially autonomous and operated under the commercial law of an eligible country.
The documents may be purchased upon payment by Manager’s Cheque of a non refundable fee of JA$ 5,000 or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency for each set to the order of NROCC.
Bids shall be valid for a period of forty five (45) days after the closing date for submission bids and must be accompanied by bid security of two hundred thousand Jamaican dollars (roughly US$ 1: JA$ 70) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. Completed tender documents together with all required enclosures shall be placed in a sealed envelope marked “Tender For the Procurement of Weigh Scales” and deposited in the tender box by 3 pm on May 30, 2008. They will be opened at the same address at 3:30 pm on the same day in the presence of representatives of any bidder who wishes to attend. Bids will not be accepted after the tender box is closed. NROCC does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any other bid and will not defray an costs incurred by bidders in preparing their bid.
